Extra-curricular activities are a valuable investment in the future of the students. Research shows that students who participate in activities outside of their studies tend to have higher grades, better exam scores, and more positive educational experiences in general. For instance, the ability to work with others, negotiate a way forward from different perspectives, and effective or diverse communication approaches are likely to be useful skills in the study context. The skills that one can gain from participating in extracurricular activities are numerous but we can enumerate a few which are -
We at dcmte aim at an all round personality development (Intellectual Development, Emotional Development, Social Development, Moral & Spiritual Development, Aesthetic Development etc.) of Our Students/ Pupil-Teachers/ Teacher Trainees. Through Co-curricular and Extra curricular activities our trainees not only develop themselves in different domains but they also learn to plan , organize and coordinate different activities systematically and thus we put emphasis on extracurricular activities like Yoga Workshop, ICT Workshop, Art and Craft Workshop, different Competitions, Cultural Activities etc. Keeping this idea in mind, Drona's College Pupil Teachers/Students are the members of or divided in four different Groups/ Houses i.e Abhimanyu (Red House), Eklavya (Green House), Dhruv (Blue House), Nachiketa (Yellow House). Each house have their chosen house representatives as well as class representatives who represent the whole class, elected by the students themselves. The quality of Leadership, Teamwork and Organisation are all enhanced by the above process.
Drona’s College’s “Co-curricular and Extra Curricular Activities Team” works with an aim to give Students/ Pupil teachers first hand experience in organizing intra and inter college events and programs like Orientation Day, Farewell Day, Teacher's Day etc. Extra Curricular activities are encouraged by way of celebrating National Festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti etc., and Cultural Festivals like Holi, Deepawali , Christmas, Basant Panchami, Phool Dei, Harela, Egaas, etc., National Days such as National Youth Day ,National Girl Child Day, National Voters’ Day, National Productivity Day, National Science Day, National Pollution Control Day, National Consumer Day etc. and International Days like International Women's Day, World Water Day, World Health Day, World Heritage Day, World Environment Day, International Yoga Day, World Earth Day etc.and also by organizing group-wise and house-wise different activities as Diya Decoration Competition, Rangoli Making Competition , Christmas Tree Decoration Competition, Natural Colour Making Competition, Card Making Competition, Article Writing Competition, Poster Making Competition, Mehndi Competition, Embroidery Competition, Inter House Debate Competition, Inter House Sports Competition, Slogan Writing Competition, Awareness Campaign, Discussion, Science Exhibition, Cleanliness Drive, First Aid Box Preparation Activity, Best Out of Waste Competition, and Organisation of Yoga Session etc. Apart from the above activities we also follow the guidelines provided by the NCTE regarding celebration of important days and will continue to do so in future also.
